In Madagascar 2, Escape to Africa we are reunited with the familiar foursome: Alex, the lion (voice of Ben Stiller), Marty the Zebra (voice of Chris Rock), Gloria the hippo (voice of Jada Pinkett-Smith) and Melman the giraffe (voice of David Schwimmer).

We meet with them at the place we left off in the first movie, with them trying to make their way back to New York!! In their attempt to return to the Big Apple, they land in Africa and the four friends come face to face with more animals of their own kind and are in awe!! There is a lot more sentiment in this one as opposed to the first Madagascar. Each character has their own issues that they are going through, and the humor and storyline is suitable for both children and adults. There is even a scene where the monkeys are demanding Maternity Leave. Personally I think the best parts are the scenes with the “vain” lemur king Julian (voiced by Sacha Baron Cohen). The animation and music flowed perfectly and the movie was overall enjoyable to watch!! With the additional character voices of Alec Baldwin, and the late Bernie Mac, you never want this movie to end.
