So when the new girl arrives and falls for the man who holds her dream job, things get a little heated. To add some fuel to the fire, severe competition is boiling between the top rated news team and every other news team, leading to hilarious brawls and some extremely unnecessary carnage. Despite the wild scenes, this happens to be a decent, wholesome film that the majority of the family can enjoy. For all you jazz buffs, there is a rather entertaining musical sequence. There's something in this movie for everyone in the family including a very surreal trip to Pleasure Land made for the so called flower children running in a field somewhere.
Like animals? Well then this movie should appeal to even your fancy, bears, dogs and pandas you never really see...all playing a surprisingly important role in the film. There are even some bilingual phrases. Okay it's not exactly bilingual, but either way it'll still crack you up. Grab the tree hugger, the band dork, your dog, your "abuelos" and the love birds and take them to see this truly "out of sight" film.
This movie will be key in understanding this fall's probable catch phrases. Like they say, "When in Rome..." In addition to comedy, romance and an interesting explanation about the origins of "Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy," This movie is jam packed with cameos of some of our favorite names in comedy. The news has definitely never been this fun. So, "stay classy, and thanks for stopping by."
When I watch a movie all I want is to be entertained, and this movie did just that. The humor was at its best, especially between Burgandy and his dog. Anchorman tells thestory of a news team being overrun by the first female anchor woman, who Burgandy happens to fall in love with. It's the usual SNL type comedy movie with 2-cent jokes here and there, but don't be ashamed to laugh along with them.
It actually has a good story to tell within all of its slapstick humor. Also there are cameos from comedic all stars such as Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, Jack Black and Luke Wilson. Overall, its just a really good comedy movie. It will bring a smile to your face more than a few times and it has something for everyone. There is stupid humor for guys, women's liberation humor for girls and dog humor for people like me. You get the best of every world.
One thing I do not recommend is taking the whole family out to see this movie as it has its share of adult language and humor. I think that kids really wouldn't understand it, but just to be on the safe side, put the kids to bed before watching this flick. Anyone 13 or older can enjoy this movie. I must admit, the violence level even though done in a comedic, and not realistic fashion, is a little grotesque. The film may shock younger viewers in a small way, unless hurling tridents and men on horses is an everyday activity in their household. As for sexual content, its not too bad. The only sexually explicit scene in the movie involves rainbows and unicorns in place of the usual R rated material. With few parts not appropriate for the entire family the movie is bombarded with humor to be enjoyed by all.
The music score is incredible. If you watch it you'll know what I mean. Besides, why do you need to read a review on this movie? its Will Ferrell! The next time your in the mood for a good laugh or two, call a babysitter for the youngsters and take your honey to see "Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgandy." Oh, and did I mention...its a great date movie.
