“X-Men 3: The Last Stand” is the final installment of the X-Men Trilogy. The movie begins where X-Men 2 left off, showing the lake where Jean Grey (Famke Janssen) died. The scene jumps to the school for mutants run by Professor Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart) whom everyone is grieving the loss of Jean Grey and the Professor in a flashback remembering himself and Magneto (Ian McKellen) meeting the young Jean Grey at her house. We come to find out that Jean Grey is alive but not the same, her mutant powers has unlocked the dormant Dark Phoenix. Meanwhile, we learn that the government has developed a cure for the mutant gene, by using another mutant known as Leech (Cameron Bright), who is being held on Alcatraz Island, and the government sets out ministering the cure to the mutants with or without their permission.

Magneto (Ian McKellen) is against the drug and sets out to destroy it and anyone who gets in his way. He raises an army of mutants who also feel the same way and heads out to attack Alcatraz Island. Logan/Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) discovers the plot and heads back to the school where he is joined by Storm (Halle Berry) and other mutants to try and stop Magneto

The film had very STUNNING visual effects, and it also introduced many known comic book mutants such as Juggernaut, Multiple Man, Angel, and the Beast. The movie showed the abilities of most of the mutants, which were visually captivating. The movie also addressed real issues that plague our world today, such as acceptance, betrayal, terrorism, understanding and freedom. Overall the movie was fun, had high energy, thrilling action sequence and an all star cast who skillfully portrayed their characters.

I recommend this movie and give it 5 X-traordinary stars
